A teenage girl has been able to grow her fingernails up to a length of 14.8 cms. All she did was not cut the nails for a duration of three years.

Simone Taylor, the teenager is 16 years old and spends three hours to put varnish on her precious nails.

She surely would be needing several bottles of the stuff every month.

The teenager belongs to Nuremberg, a town in Germany, and admits people often ask her how she uses the bathroom and brushes her teeth.

She says,
“Cleaning my teeth and using the toilet aren’t a problem. Funnily enough, a lot of people ask the toilet question when they see my nails for the first time.’ She further adds,’”Showering is a bit more difficult. Sometimes my nails get caught in my hair, so I have to be extra careful.”

Simone, who hasn’t cut her nails since August 2014, finds most of the physical exercises impossible as her nails are pretty long to act as a hindrance for such activities.

The long nails have made it difficult for Simone to type on the computer or use a pen. In spite of these difficulties, she is not willing to discount it for anything as she loves her nails.

She once had freaked out when one of her nails got broken accidentally.

She said,
“My friends and I were climbing a gate that was stuck, and as I jumped down, my middle finger nail got stuck in the metal and broke. I started crying and remember screaming, “Why my nail? Anything but my nail.”

Her friends tried to calm her down but didn’t have much success.

The idea of growing her nails big struck Simone when she chanced upon an online nail art video. It’s not easy to maintain such long nails and in fact, it comes at a huge cost too apart from the monthly maintenance cost of approximately $32 for her priced possession, the 14.8cm thumbnails!
