Hurricane Irma's Terrifying Effects On Florida and Bahamas Waters

Recently, Hurricane Irma is all in news for its devastating power which has nearly wiped out Carribean Islands. Slowly this storm has entered US and the Bahamas resulting in a weird terrifying phenomenon that has left locals in shock.

Already leaving more than 2 million homes powerless, the winds are now moving towards the center of Hurricane Irma, as a result, the waters of beaches have disappeared from the Floridian shores.

A twitter user has uploaded some pictures showing this rare phenomenon in Florida and Bahamas.

Beaches have become ‘dry’ as tropical winds have pulled their ocean tides far away from the shore

According to Washington Post weather editor Angela Fritz,

Irma’s low pressure is the cause, which acts as a “sucking mechanism — it sucks the air into it, and when it’s really low, it can change the shape of the surface of the ocean.”

The low pressure of the Hurricane Irma creates a sucking mechanism according to weather scientists.

It is worrying when the shoreline will get its waters back, it will rush back rapidly with destructive momentum. Imagining the sight is itself scary.
